Courtney Field (born April 23, 1997 in Melbourne ) is an Australian track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.

Athletic career

From 2011 Courtney Field won several Australian junior titles in sprint disciplines on the track. In 2014 she became junior world champion in the sprint and vice world champion in the keirin and 500 meter time trial . In the same year she became a two-time ocean junior champion, in the sprint and in the time trial. In 2015 she won a silver medal at the Junior World Championships in the Keirin and in the Sprint.

In July 2016, Field collided with rider Anna Meares during a Keirin race and suffered severe abrasions; several wood splinters from the cycling track had to be surgically removed. In November she started in an international elite race for the first time and finished third in the Keirin at the Track Cycling World Cup in Glasgow .

Honors

Courtney Field was named Victorian Junior Cyclist of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013 .
