Courtney Niemiec (born April 13, 1992 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is a former American football player and coach.
Career
During her studies at La Salle University , Niemiec played for the La Salle Explorers team there from 2010 to 2013 . Before the 2014 season she was signed by the NWSL franchise of Portland Thorns FC and made her debut there on April 12, 2014 in an away win against the Houston Dash . After a total of fifteen missions, she was released from the Thorns on June 24, 2015.
Before the 2016 season, Niemiec moved to league competitor Western New York Flash , for whom she appeared in six league games and with whom she won the championship. After the Flash team was sold at the beginning of 2017, she was initially in the squad of the successor franchise North Carolina Courage , but ended her career as a footballer at the end of May 2017 without any further competitive appearances.
In the summer of 2017, she returned to her Alma Mater La Salle University as an assistant trainer .
