Oberhof (Schwarzenbach an der Saale)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oberhof in today's town of Schwarzenbach an der Saale was a low-nobility residence .

In Schwarzenbach an der Saale there were three knight seats, the Oberhof, the Unterhof and the Seuckenreuth Tower Hill Castle . While the other two seats in the valley on the Saale served to secure fords , the Oberhof had a higher location. It was part of the property of the von Hirschberg family . According to Paul Goller, the exact location was the junction between Förbauer Strasse and Münchberger Strasse (see also the list of street names in Schwarzenbach an der Saale ). It was initially a tower hill castle ; the area has cellars and traces of terrain. According to August Strobel, the Kirchberg in the area of the rectory should also be considered as a location . The determination of the location, which had already been forgotten in the 17th century, was mainly based on the traditional deeds of ownership.
