St. Gumbertus (Schwarzenbach an der Saale)
The St. Gumbertus Church is the Evangelical Lutheran parish church in the town of Schwarzenbach an der Saale .
The Gumbertus Church stands on the steep Kirchberg on the west bank of the Saale and is a monument as part of the city ensemble and as a building . It is a hall church with a west tower. She belongs to the dean's office Münchberg . The church patronage was previously tied to the Schwarzenbach manor . Jean Paul’s father was the first pastor in the village and is buried in the local cemetery. The church burned down several times. The special features of the furnishings include a Heidenreich organ, a baptismal angel from 1891 and the altar by the sculptor Groß from Burgkunstadt from 1812.
