The Evangelical Lutheran deanery in Münchberg is one of the 16 deaneries in the Bayreuth church district . The Protestant theologian Wolfgang Oertel has been dean in Münchberg since January 2020. He is the successor of the theologian Erwin Lechner.
geography
The deanery district includes the communities of the former Münchberg district . Since the regional reform in Bavaria , the parishes now belong to the districts of Hof and Bayreuth .
history
Most communities were before the transition to the Kingdom of Bavaria in Margravate Brandenburg-Bayreuth . The Reformation was introduced in 1528 by George the Pious . The Mannsflur community belonged to the Bamberg Monastery and is now a Protestant diaspora community .
