Formed in 2011, Coves wrote their debut album Soft Friday within a year while living in an abandoned building in Leamington Spa . The album will be released on September 2, 2014 in Germany on the indie label Nettwerk . The band was "New band of the day" on February 14, 2013 in The Guardian newspaper .
