Cowd Castle

Cowd Castle , also Choud Castle , is a castle in the fishing village of Ardglass in County Down, Northern Ireland . It is at the entrance to the Ardglass Golf Club . Margaret's Castle is across the street . Cowd Castle is a small, two-story tower from the late 15th or early 16th century. The entrance is in the west wall. A straight staircase along the outer wall led to the upper floor. Today it is blocked.

The residential tower is a State Care Historic Monument in the townland of Ardglass in the District of Newry, Morne and Down .

There were at least six castles in Ardglass. Remains of four can still be seen today: Ardglass Castle , Cowd Castle, Jordan's Castle and Margaret's Castle .
