The Cowles Mountain ( 486 m ) is a mountain in the city of San Diego and at the same time the highest point. The mountain is located in the Mission Trails Regional Park and is a popular excursion point due to its proximity to the city.
The name of the mountain comes from George A. Cowles, a rancher in what is now the metropolitan area of San Diego.
The summit can be reached as a simple mountain hike over 2.4 km in length.
