The around it is since 1998 all the even years on Pentecost weekend held folk music event in the city of rain . A folk music fair and a craft market are held at the same time.

For the 20th anniversary of the Regener Volksmusikwoche and the 850th anniversary of the city, the festival took place for the first time in 1998 under the name around it - The Folk Music Spectacle. While around 100 groups and 9,000 visitors took part at the time, in 2014 there were already 2,500 musicians and 50,000 visitors. The folk music groups come from Bavaria, Austria and neighboring countries in Eastern Europe. The original aim was to create a meeting place for musicians and visitors to exchange ideas and deal with traditional music. The founder and organizer of the event is Roland Pongratz, organizer of Catholic adult education in the Regen district .

In addition to planned concerts on various stages, beer gardens and in inns, the event thrives on the many spontaneous appearances of the music groups in the city center and in the spa gardens. The groups are also involved in dance evenings, readings by the city library on the subject of dialect and church services.

In 2020 the festival was canceled due to the effects of the coronavirus .
