The Cox Glacier is a small glacier on Thurston Island off the coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows east of the Rochray Glacier in a southerly direction to the Abbot Ice Shelf in Peacock Sound .

Its position was determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy VX-6 squadron in January 1960. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1960 after Lieutenant Jerry G. Cox, helicopter pilot aboard the USCGC icebreaker Burton Island during the US Navy research expedition in February 1960 into the Bellingshausen Sea .
