Craig Fairbaugh (born March 11, 1978 ) is an American musician and the rhythm guitarist and back-up singer of the punk rock band +44 . Other musicians in the band are Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, members of the successful punk-pop trio blink-182 , and Shane Gallagher from the band The Nervous Return.

Earlier life

Fairbaugh grew up in the Bay Area of San Francisco and started playing the guitar at the age of 15. He later formed and directed his own three-man band, Vintage 46, which only played at a few house parties. Craig gave one of the recorded demo tapes to Tim Armstrong of the punk band Rancid , who promised him to release the album on a new label he had just founded, but it never happened. He later moved to Los Angeles to better pursue his musical interests.

Career

He currently plays for the punk rock band The Mercy Killers. He also became an official band member of +44 after previous guitarist Carol Heller left the band during the recording of their first album in order to raise a family. The album was released on November 14, 2006. Other bands that Fairbaugh played in were Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards , The Transplants and The Forgotten.
