+44 also (+44) , plus 44 or plus 44 (debate "plus forty four") was an American pop punk - / alternative rock - band , made up of Mark Hoppus , Travis Barker , Craig Fairbaugh and Shane Gallagher put it together.
history
After the members of the American pop-punk band blink-182 agreed in February 2005 on an "unlimited creative break", the cause of which was increasing tensions between Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus, the members went their own way. While Tom DeLonge founded the group Angels & Airwaves , Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker started the band +44. The idea for the name came to them while they were in England , whose international phone code is +44.
The band initially consisted of Hoppus, Barker and the singer of the band "Get the Girl", Carol Heller. She left the band in the course of the recordings for the album to take care of her family. You can still hear it in the song "Make You Smile" and in the very early versions of "No it Isn't". The void was eventually filled by Gallagher and Fairbaugh.
Her first album When Your Heart Stops Beating was released on November 14, 2006.
As part of the iTunes Foreign Exchange project, the band recorded the song “Guten Tag” by Wir sind Helden in their own language. In return, “When Your Heart Stops Beating” was sung by the German band. Both songs were released on June 4, 2007 in the iTunes Store .
+44 still exists, but when blink-182 reunited in February 2009, the band was put on hold for the time being.
In an interview with Up on the Sun, Mark Hoppus admitted that there is a future for +44, but the band is currently not working together (because blink-182, his TV show and his family are in the foreground). He added that he would be very excited about a new album to be produced.
