Craig Forrest (born September 20, 1967 in Coquitlam , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian soccer player . The goalkeeper made his career in England.

Career

Forrest joined Ipswich Town in 1985 , for which he played a total of 263 league games until 1997. But that doesn't mean that he didn't play for other clubs. After he did not get beyond a reservist existence in the first 3 years, he was loaned to Colchester United , for which he was able to record 11 missions in the 1987/1988 season. Then he had made the breakthrough and remained number 1 from Ipswich until 1997. Then he moved to West Ham United , for which he was only number 1 in the first year, after which he gradually became number 2. Nevertheless, he stayed with this club until 2002, when his career was ended by a cancer that he survived.

In 1988 he was appointed to the Canadian national team for the first time . By 2002 he made 56 international appearances, making him the record holder for Canadian goalkeepers.

Forrest has been a member of the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame since 2007 .
