Craig Rhos-y-felin
Craig Rhos-y-felin (also known as Craig Rhosyfelin or Pont Saeson rock outcrop) is an outcrop near the Afon Bryn Beran River, on the north side of the Preseli Hills , in Pembrokeshire in Wales , which, due to its geological and geomorphological interest (Regionally important geological site) is designated as the location of the Bluestones (blue dolerite ).
Some archaeologists believe that this is a quarry that, along with Carn Meini Quarry, was the source of the stones used in Stonehenge . This is controversial as all features at the site, apart from indications of temporary use over a long period of time, are of natural origin. Craig Rhos-y-felin is said to have been a quarry for the first time in 2011. The evidence cited in 2015 (by Brian John, Dyfed Elis-Gruffydd and John Downes) has been contested.
