Crail Castle was a castle in the parish of Crail in the Scottish county of Fife . In the 12th century Crail became a Royal Burgh . King David I stayed there frequently during his reign in the 12th century . Ada de Warenne received Crail Castle as part of her marriage agreements with Prince Henry of Scotland . King Robert I confirmed Crail's status in 1306 and in 1310 appointed Lawrence de Weirmerstoun as constable of the castle. In 1563 the castle fell into ruin . It stood over the harbor. Today there is nothing to see of Crail Castle.
