Criss was the name of a hard rock band founded in 1992 by the American drummer Peter Criss .

history

Peter Criss had released two solo albums (1982 Out of Control and 1982 Let Me Rock You ) after his separation from Kiss , but they did not bring the hoped-for commercial success. In the following years he appeared as a singer of backing vocals on albums by Black 'n Blue (1986) and Ace Frehley (1989), but was otherwise not noticed musically. Although he had belonged to several groups ("The Alliance" (1984–1985, with Stan Penridge), “Balls Of Fire” (1986) and “The Tree” / “The Keep” (1989–1991, with Mark St. John ) ), but none of them made it to a publication.

In 1992 he founded "Criss" with Mark Montague, Kirk Miller and Mike Stone. The group recorded thirteen tracks in the Track 24 Recording Studio in July 1993, including the 1976 Kiss hit Beth written by Criss . Five tracks were selected from these recordings for an EP and published in October 1993 as a numbered “Limited Edition” and distributed via mail order . Beth was released as a single .

In August 1994 the group released the album Cat # 1 , which contained 11 tracks. Two of the titles released in 1993, namely The Cat and What You're Doin ' , were not included on it. According to a label on the cover, Ace Frehley was involved in the album, but it was not specified which songs he was involved in. This album was also distributed via mail order.

The band continued to exist until 1995 and was part of the “Bad Boys Tour”, which they played with the Ace Frehley Band, but then broke up.
