Cristian Techera , full name Cristian Rafael Techera Cribelli , (born May 31, 1992 in Quebracho ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Techera, who is 1.57 meters tall, played for Club Atlético Peñarol in his youth . At least since the 2009/10 season he was in the ranks of the Uruguayan first division team River Plate Montevideo . That season he made his debut as a substitute on April 11, 2010 in the game against Cerro Largo FC and completed two games (no goal) in the Primera División by the end of the season . In the 2010/11 season he is not included in the squad. For the Montevideans he played in four (no goal), 23 (five goals) and 25 (four goals) first division games in the 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. In the Copa Sudamericana 2013 , he also came four times (one goal) to train. In the 2014/15 season he was used 20 times (nine goals) in the Primera División and four times (one goal) in the 2014 Copa Sudamericana .

During the ongoing Clausura 2014, he switched to Canada on loan to the Vancouver Whitecaps for one season in April 2015 . So far (as of July 24, 2017) he has played 71 times (14 goals) in the MLS, four times (no goal) in the 2015 Canadian Championship and six times (five goals) in the CONCACAF Champions Cup . In 2015 he won the Canadian Championship with the team.

On January 6, 2016, the Canadian club announced the firm commitment of Techera and the conclusion of a multi-year contract.
