List of breeds of chicken |
Croad Langschan is a breed of chicken that was imported to England from China in 1872 . Seven years later the first animals came to Germany. However, they were quickly ousted by the German Langschan bred from them . It was only after the Second World War that the original Croad-Langschan came back to Germany.
features
A striking feature are the feathered legs. There are black and white color options. The impression of size is not achieved by an excessively high position, but rather by the depth of the trunk and the upright position. The rooster's trunk appears comparatively short for the height of the animal. The tail is equipped with long saddle feathers. The comb is a medium-sized, 5-point single comb that has a fine weave and protrudes slightly from the neckline.
The Croad Langschan are quite good cattle , which stand out with an egg production of 160 pieces in the first year and are popular as slaughterhouses. With the dwarf croad Langschan there is also a dwarf breed that is looked after by the same special association.
