List of breeds of chicken

The list is supplemented by breeds recognized in member associations of the European Association for Poultry, Pigeon, Bird, Rabbit and Cavia Breeding (EE). The large breeds are each contrasted with their dwarfed variants. In order to complete the list of the few original Bantams, called " Urzwerge ", called in a separate column. All bantams can be found in the list of bantam breeds .
Recognized endangered poultry breeds and their degree of endangerment are also included in the list of endangered livestock breeds in the poultry or chickens section .
The hybrid chickens used for egg and meat production are not included in this list. Hybrid chickens are not pedigree chickens, they are crossed from pure inbred lines and are not suitable for pedigree breeding.
