Crookedwood , ( Irish Tigh Munna / Taghmon ) is a place in County Westmeath , Leinster Province , Republic of Ireland .

General

Crookedwood is a small town at the southeast end of Lough Derravaragh , at the southern foot of Knockeyon. It is approximately 5 miles north of Mullingar , the capital of Westmeath County. The regional road from County Cavan to Mullingar runs through the village. The surrounding hills are covered with pine forests.

Lough Derravaragh is offered by the municipality as a fishing area for European and American tourists. Crookedwood GAA is the local hurling club that plays in the Intermediate Division of the Westmeath Hurling Championship .
