CrossDeLuxe
The CrossDeLuxe has been an annual obstacle run since 2010 on the banks of the Markkleeberger See in the Leipziger Neuseenland . Participants compete against each other over a distance of 8 or 16 kilometers and have to conquer both natural and artificial obstacles. The Sparkassen-CrossDeLuxe event takes place annually in September.
history
The obstacle course is part of the Sparkassen Challenge. The CrossDeLuxe is organized by Sportfreunde Neuseenland eV Sparkasse Leipzig promotes the event as the main sponsor. The first CrossDeLuxe took place on September 26, 2010 with around 400 participants. For the running event in 2012, the number of participants was limited to 1,000. From 2016 the number of participants in the CrossDeLuxe was increased to 3,000. Since then, the Sparkassen-CrossDeLuxe has always been completely sold out.
route
The approximately 8 km long, staked running route runs mostly over unpaved terrain. The start and finish point is at the turning loop leading to the canoe park on the banks of the Markkleeberger See . Participants in the 16-kilometer run complete the same route twice. The 25 or so obstacles that have to be overcome during the run are partly natural and partly artificial. Recurring obstacles of the CrossDeLuxe include:
- Full wash cycle : Immediately after the start, there is a short section in the Markkleeberger See.
- Mud battle : A stretch of track with muddy terrain that is put under water again before the run.
- Hell rush : Participants have to overcome an approximately 20 m long, improvised water slide with a moat.
- MP Shaker : With this obstacle the participants have to run or jump over the water. To master this, speed is crucial.
- Hell stairs: The obstacle consists of 40 meters of altitude with 100 steps.
Every year the CrossDeLuxe route is expanded to include new obstacles.
Strongest firefighter
The Strongest Firefighter event was a side event of the CrossDeLuxe from 2012 to 2014. This version of the CrossDeLuxe was specially designed for members of the fire brigade, rescue service and military organization.
