The Crowfoot Glacier ( English for " crow's foot glacier ") is a glacier that is located in Banff National Park in Alberta , the westernmost of the Prairie Provinces of Canada .
It is about 20 miles from Lake Louise and can be seen from the Icefields Parkway . The glacier provides water for the Bow River . The glacier has been in decline since the end of the Little Ice Age . In the 1980s it covered an area of about 1.5 km² and was part of a smaller ice field with an area of 5 km².
