The Crveni fićo ( Croatian for the red Fićo ) or Fićo gazi tenka! ( Croat. for Der Fićo runs over the tank ) is an installation that is set up in the Croatian city ​​of Osijek .

Idea and content

The work of art symbolically commemorates the Croatian victory over the Yugoslav People's Army and the Serbian attackers during the Battle of Osijek .

The installation is located at the intersection of Vukovar / Trpimir Street and provides the red Zastava 750 (nickname is still FICO ) is standing in front of the cameras on 27 June 1991 by a T-55 - tank was run over the Yugoslav People's Army.

The red Fićo belonged to the Croatian soldier Branko Breškić and became a symbol of the resistance of the citizens of Osijek to the Serbian-Yugoslav aggression.

The idea for the installation came from the Osijek HSLS City Councilor Marija Medić in 2006. The inauguration took place on June 27, 2011.
