Cry of Terror was a Dutch thrash metal band from Winterswijk that was founded in 1986 and split up in 1991.

history

The band was founded in 1986 by bassist Walter Raben, singer Hans Aalbers, drummer Peter “Piere” te Bogt and guitarist Wouter Maarse. Together they developed the first songs and played the first concerts. After a performance in southern Germany in 1988, the band reached a contract with Old World Records from Peine . The band went into the studio to record an EP as well as their debut album. After the worldwide release in 1989, several appearances followed. In 1991 the second album Unnatural Prospects in a Concrete World followed in 1991. The publication followed tours throughout Germany as well as Czechoslovakia , Switzerland , Austria and Poland . However, the band broke up in the same year.

style

The band plays a form of thrash metal, which at Ignorance of Sacred Reich recalls. The songs are often very aggressive, so that occasional comparisons with Slayer can be made. The occasional use of Death Metal influences is also characteristic.
