Cryptic Forest is a German black metal band from the Black Forest . It consists of several members of the Pagan Metal band Finsterforst .
history
The band was started in 2003 as a black metal project by composer Simon Schillinger.
After his musical focus had been on the sister band Finsterforst for years , he soon recruited the other members. A first EP with two songs was recorded between 2009 and 2011, which was limited to 500 copies in 2011.
After around 10 years, the debut album Ystyr was released on the German label Einheit Produktionen in mid-August 2013 . The response to this was consistently positive.
A first European tour with Finsterforst and Trollfest has been announced for 2014 .
