Schollene Castle is a rococo castle built in the 18th century in Schollene in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt.

history

The palace was built in 1752 in the Rococo style with classicist tendencies by Friedrich Wilhelm von Printzen , with the help of architects from Berlin who succeeded Andreas Schlueter and Jean de Bodt .

The castle passed to the Counts of Wartensleben in 1773 through the marriage of Sophie von Printzen and Count Wilhelm Friedrich von Wartensleben . After her husband's death, Sophie von Printzen managed the estate for her son Count Ludwig Christian von Wartensleben. The estate and castle remained in the possession of the Counts of Wartensleben until 1839 and was sold to the Barons von der Hagen on Hohennauen in 1840 .

In 1860 it was given to Udo III. sold on by Alvensleben . After the father's death in 1910, the property passed to his son Alkmar von Alvensleben . The castle remained the property of the von Alvensleben family until the land reform in 1945. After the expropriation, the castle was used to receive refugees and expellees from East and West Prussia, Danzig, Pomerania, Silesia and the Sudetenland.
