Culann Patera
Coordinates: 19 ° 53 ′ S , 160 ° 7 ′ W
The Culann Patera is a volcano on Jupiter's moon Io . It was named in 1979 after a Celtic blacksmith deity. When it was observed with the Galileo space probe on November 25, 1999 , it was found that the mountain was ejecting green-appearing material, which can be explained by a thin layer of sulfur over dark lava.
