Curiapo is a village in the state of Delta Amacuro in the Orinoco Delta . It is the headquarters of the Antonio Díaz district ( Municipio ) .

population

In 2001, around 2880 Warao Indians lived in the area . Most people make a living from fishing, hunting and gathering.

The village is considered a tourist attraction in the region, even if tourism is underdeveloped.

Curiapo is located in the east of Venezuela in the Orinoco Delta.

education

The village has a couple of primary schools, of which the Escuela Pedernales is the largest.
