Cursive is an American indie rock band whose albums are released on the Saddle Creek label .

Band history

The band was founded in 1995 by Tim Kasher (vocals, guitar), Matt Maginn (bass, vocals), Clint Schnase (drums) and guitarist Steve Pedersen, who was later replaced by Ted Stevens. Cellist Gretta Cohn, who left the band in August 2005, joined the band with the EP Burst & Bloom (2001).

Frontman Tim Kasher founded the band The Good Life as a side project in 2000 to process his song ideas that did not fit the style of Cursive.
