The Good Life is an American indie rock band from Omaha , Nebraska and was formed by Tim Kasher, singer and guitarist with Cursive . The name of the four-piece band from Omaha comes from a street sign for the state of Nebraska and is considered the state's slogan.
history
Tim Kasher initially planned The Good Life as a solo project in order to process song material that did not seem suitable for his other music projects. For this project he was able to win Roger Lewis, Landon Hedges and Mike Heim as studio musicians and in 2000 released the debut album Novena on a Nocturn on the Better Looking Records label from San Diego . Mike Heim on keyboard was replaced at short notice in 2001 by Jiha Lee. After that, Kasher returned to his band project Cursive and let work on his project The Good Life rest.
In 2002 they formed their own band, which, complemented by Ryan Fox, released the album Black Out on the Saddle Creek label in the same year . After the recordings, Landon Hedges got out, for whom Ted Stevens stepped in. With Stefanie Drootin, the band was finally able to find a permanent replacement. In May 2004 the EP Lovers Need Lawyers was released and in August 2004 the third album Album of the Year , which is considered the best song material of the formation to date. On September 11, 2007, the fourth album Help Wanted Nights was released in the USA. In Germany it was published on October 5, 2007 via Indigo . In 2008 the band Tokyo Police Club released the album Elephant Shell , which also contained a remix of the Good Life track Listen To The Math .
