The Curt-Goetz-Ring is a challenge award, which is given to people who continue the work of Curt Goetz by "combining the light tone of comedy with intelligence and a humanistic attitude". Valérie von Martens , Goetz's widow, donated the ring in 1985 in his honor. The first bearer was Carl-Heinz Schroth .
