Cynthia Harrod-Eagles

Cynthia Harrod-Eagles (born August 13, 1948 in London - Shepherd's Bush ) is a British writer who became known for historical and detective novels . She also uses the stage names Elizabeth Bennett and Emma Woodhouse. The Fiction Database counted a total of 73 novel publications in 2012.

Life

Harrod-Eagles grew up in Shepherd's Bush in the northwest of the British capital. She attended Burlington School and later studied English literature, history and philosophy at the University of Edinburgh and University College London . After graduating, she worked as a marketing employee for the Coca-Cola group in Edinburgh and as a company pension specialist at the BBC in London. She wrote her first stories and novels in the evenings and on weekends.

The success of her Morland Dynasty series gave her the opportunity to dedicate herself to writing full-time from 1979. In addition to the historical novels, which encompass all of modern English history, she also wrote a series of 14 detective novels about the pensive detective inspector of the London Metropolitan Police, Bill Slider . Your Kirov Saga is a trilogy set in 19th century Russia. The Kirkus Review ascribed the first novel Anna to be action-packed, well researched and stylish.

Cynthia Harrod-Eagles lives in London with her husband. They have three grown children together. According to the blurb of her novels, she has a keen interest in classical music - up to now she has played in several amateur orchestras as a hobby -, horses, wine, architecture and hiking.

Harrod-Eagles has lived in London and Middlesex with her husband for several years . They have two daughters and one son.
