Cypecore is a German melodic death metal - band from Mannheim .

history

The band was founded in 2007 by Attila Erdélyi, Nils Lesser, Lucas Amadeus Buttendorf, Christoph Rogdakis and Christoph Heckel. They have released four independent studio albums so far. Each of these albums is a concept album based on the story of a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world set in the 22nd century after World War 3. Humanity is almost wiped out and the entire earth is radioactively contaminated, which makes it necessary to wear a full-body protective suit, which the band always wears even when performing live. Bassist Christoph “Desolator” Heckel died on October 29, 2018 of complications from cancer.

style

The band plays melodic death metal with influences from industrial . They describe their own style as "brutal, martial but still melodic" (too brutal, violent but still melodic). They always refer to their live performances as "operations".

Appearance and background

Originally it was not planned that there should be the story that takes place after the "third world war", but since the album Identity with a new singer, they have developed this concept. In an interview they mentioned how the album titles could fit into the story: The first album, Innocent, describes the pre-war period; the second album, Take the Consequence, is the time of the war itself or a little afterwards, when the bereaved now have to deal with the situation. This is followed by the album 'Identity', here everyone can find their role in the whole. The album 'The Alliance', released in 2018, represents the search for allies.
