Cyprian Jonas von Lilgenau (born in Eulendorf near Ohlau ) was a German courtier and administrative officer.

Life

Jonas von Lilgenau is the son of Johannes Jonas von Lilgenau, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Bruges . Apart from his Protestant upbringing, very little is known about childhood and youth.

As Brieger Vice Marshal Jonas von Lilgenau was promoted to court marshal by Duke Johann Christian in 1639 . 15 years later he was promoted to governor by his employer in 1654 . Around 1664 he was given the office of governor for the Duchy of Brzeg.

Together with Hans von Sebottendorf , Jonas von Lilgenau was accepted into the Fruit Bringing Society on November 27, 1648 by Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Koethen . The prince gave Jonas von Lilgenau the company name of the rich and the motto Help with cleaning . As an emblem, he was given cat recipes or catnip < Nepeta cataria L.>. On the occasion of his recording he wrote a rhyme law:

“The cat's cap is enough to clean
and help. Reaching is my name: if we come to
such an impurity that is
in our hearts, the purification must promote our pious
Through pure virtue, although something is provided here, the
best help must be taken
from our great God. He is the one who gives help
With such strength that the evil lust escapes straight away. "

Just a few weeks later, Jonas von Lilgenau at the court in Brieg took part in another acceptance into the Fruit-Bringing Society . The celebrations took place on January 14, 1649 and were led by Prince Johann Georg II of Anhalt-Dessau . Duke George III. von Brieg , the brother of the incumbent ruler, Jonas von Lilgenau's employer, was accepted into the company.

In 1667 Jonas von Lilgenau represented his employer in Vienna at the wedding celebrations of Emperor Leopold I. In 1670 Jonas von Lilgenau was removed from office due to unexplained circumstances.
