The Cx486DX2 was a microprocessor of the 80486 generation from Cyrix ( Cx486 ) and roughly comparable to the Intel i486DX2 . Like this one, it had an internal clock doubling, making it the direct successor of the Cx486DX .

As usual with Cyrix, the Cx486DX2 was also sold as the IBM Blue Lightning 486DX2, SGS-Thomson ST486DX2 and Texas Instruments TI486DX4. These processors do not differ from each other except for the name. In terms of sales names, the Cx486DX2, along with the Cx486DX4 with their five names each, is the front runner at Cyrix.
