Avshalom Cyrus Elitzur ( Hebrew אבשלום כורש אליצור; * May 30, 1957 , Iran ) is an Israeli physicist and philosopher .

He was a lecturer at Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan . Elitzur has become known for the Elitzur Vaidman bomb test in quantum mechanics , which became known to a larger readership through the non-fiction book Shadows of the Spirit by Roger Penrose .
