The Czechen polka is a polka by Johann Strauss (son) (op. 13). The work was performed for the first time on July 21, 1845 in the Zum Sperl dance hall in Vienna .

Remarks

With this work Johann Strauss (son) wanted to address the Slavic minorities in the Danube Monarchy in general and especially their representatives in the capital Vienna. He was concerned with winning new followers, especially in view of the competition with his then overpowering father , to whom the audience flew to while the younger Strauss still had to wrestle for his audience.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 4 minutes and 4 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
