Dämmwerk ( spelling : DÄMMWERK ) is a software solution from the Berlin company Kern Ingenieurkonzepte. The modularly structured software offers calculation routines for EnEV certificates with all common standards, for the creation of energy certificates , KfW funding applications, energy advice and renovation timetables, as well as for building physics calculations in the areas of heat, humidity, noise and fire protection, room acoustics and thermal simulation and thermal bridges.

Since it was first published in 1990, the software has been developed using the Embarcadero Delphi development environment in the Object Pascal programming language .

KERN engineering concepts

KERN ingenieurkonzepte is a German software manufacturer with around 20 employees. The headquarters are in Berlin, Germany. The managing director is Andreas Kern. The company creates building physics and EnEV software and was founded in 1990 by Andreas Kern. Today the company also supports and organizes seminars and training courses on EnEV and building physics software.

Usage and functions

The software calculates and optimizes the building-physically relevant shell, as well as the general building technology (heating, hot water, air conditioning) for different standard procedures of the EnEV or building physics. Examples of this are thermal bridges , room acoustics , solar systems or ventilation concepts. The software is mainly used in the areas of energy consulting, building appraisals, architecture, civil engineering and building physics.

Licenses

The software consists of a basic module, 8 optional modules and 10 additional modules. Licenses are put together individually from the modules that are independent of each other, depending on the user's field of activity.

  • A test license is issued free of charge for 28 days.
  • A project license is offered for 6 months.
  • A proprietary user license is acquired for 12 months.

Program concept

The software has a modular structure, with the modules corresponding to different areas of building physics (such as thermal insulation) and the EnEV (such as energy certificates).

  • Kern provides software downloads, calculation examples and tutorials. User support is available free of charge.
  • Numerous updates have been published since it was first published in 1990, the current version is called "DÄMMWERK 2019".
