The Danish Health Service for South Schleswig ( Danish : Dansk Sundhedstjeneste for Sydslesvig ) is a central component of the Danish minority . The Danish Health Service offers outpatient care spread over the whole of South Schleswig . The nursing staff is supported as needed by nursing assistants and partners. The school medical and school dental care of the Danish schools in the area is also provided by the Danish Health Service. In this context, the health service is regularly active in the Danish kindergartens and schools .
The Danish health service is a member of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband , Landesverband Schleswig-Holstein. As a partner of the public health service , he takes on tasks under the Health Service Act, among other things .
Facilities
To major institutions, founded in 1950 is one of Danish retirement and nursing home Dansk Alderdomshjem Flensborg in Flensburg, the 74 older members of the minority can accommodate. There are also 40 age-appropriate individual apartments for older people (pensionistboliger) , such as De beskyttede boliger in Nerongsallee in Flensburg with 18 apartments (built in 1984), Steensen-Stiftelsen in Leck with 16 apartments (built in 1981) and the Clementshus, built in 1720 in Bredstedt with six apartments (restored in 1987). In close cooperation with school doctors and schools, around 150 children with health problems between the ages of 6 and 15 are sent to the Kystsanatorium i Hjerting near Esbjerg every year . Here they are looked after by the health service for up to eight weeks. Likewise, older people have the opportunity to make a recovery stay in taking care of the health service Hvilehjemmet Bennetgård in südjütischen Københoved to complete. This opportunity is used by around 140 people every year.
