Déjà Vu is a song by the Italian music producer Giorgio Moroder with vocals by the Australian singer Sia . The song is the third single from Moroder 's album of the same name . It was released on April 17, 2015.

History of origin

Giorgio Moroder initially composed the song alone and sent the finished composition to Sia, she added the topline, i.e. the interplay between the vocal melody and lyrics, and also wrote the complete lyrics for the song. Then she recorded it and took care of the overdubs . Musically, Moroder tried to combine electronic music with the old disco sound on the track.

After 74 Is the New 24 (2014) and Right Here, Right Now (2015), Déjà Vu is the third single from Moroder's album of the same name. Along with the other two songs, it was also one of the three songs that could be downloaded directly when pre-ordering the album. The album itself was released on June 17, 2015, two months after the single.

Music video

Directed by Alexandra Dahlström the music video follows a young man (played by Drew Lipson ) who visits a hotel and several times Sia - Lookalikes strikes that are either loving and lovable or manipulative and angry with the man but no difference between can recognize the doppelganger. Moroder himself appears as a limousine driver who gives the young man the tip not to approach the women himself, but rather to flee from them. He can also be seen as a DJ. Incidentally, Sia herself cannot be seen in the clip, but her original wig can. A teaser for the video was released on April 30, the official video premiere took place on May 5, 2015.
