Déjà Vu is a translation tool ( CAT ) that has its own program interface and enables database-supported translations.

The developer of the program is the Atril company, currently based in Paris .

history

The first version of Déjà Vu was published in 1993 and was based on a Word interface. In 1996 this functionality was discarded in favor of a separate program interface.

In the early 2000s, Déjà Vu was seen as the strongest competitor to Trados . In 2004, the developer Emilio Benito, who was seen as the driving force behind this program, passed away.

The last current full version X3 9.0 was published in February 2014 (status: April 2019).

Versions

The program is constantly being developed. The previous version, Déjà Vu X2, released a total of 12 free updates with new functions and improvements. The current program version is Déjà Vu X3 9.0.765.

Déjà Vu can process the following formats, among others: Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint - also with embedded objects - and Access), OpenOffice , OpenDocument , FrameMaker (MIF), PageMaker , QuarkXPress , InDesign (TXT, ITD, INX , IDML), QuickSilver / Interleaf ASCII, HTML, XML, RC, C / Java / C ++, Trados Workbench, Trados BIF, Trados TagEditor, TMX, XLIFF (XLF, XLIF, XLIFF, MQXLIFF, segmented and unsegmented SDLXLIFF), Visio ( VDX), PDF, Transit NXT PPF and WordFast Pro TXML.
