The Düstere Querstraße is a street in Lübeck's old town .

location

The approximately 90 meter long Düstere Querstraße is located in the south-western part of the old town island ( Marien Quartier ). It runs in a north-south direction and connects the Marlesgrube with the Dankwartsgrube , into which it joins opposite the Lichten Querstraße .

history

The Düstere Querstraße was first mentioned in 1333 with the mixed Low German - Latin name Dwerstrate inter fossas Marlewi et Danquardi (cross street between Marlesgrube and Dankwartsgrube). In 1458 the name Düstere Dwerstrate is recorded, and in 1852 it is Düstre Dwasstraße . In the same year, the current name is officially determined.
