DM Dassanayake

DM Dassanayake (full name Dassanayake Mudiyanselage Dassanayake ; born April 29, 1953 in Anamaduwa , † January 8, 2008 in Colombo ) was a Sri Lankan politician .

Life

Dassanayake represented the constituency of his place of residence Anamaduwa in the province of Wayamba in parliament. Since January 2007, Dassanayake was Minister for Nation- Building and a Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka. He died from injuries sustained in a bomb attack in Ja-Ela , a village 19 km north of Colombo .

The minister fell victim to a fragmentation mine that hit a convoy of vehicles and injured six other people. One of his bodyguards also later died from his serious injuries.

Dassanayake was married to the Vice Chairperson of the Wyamba Provincial Council Indrani Dassanayake; You have a daughter.
