DHL Supply Chain is a division of Deutsche Post and with around 146,000 employees and a turnover of more than fourteen billion euros in 2017, it is the largest contract logistics company with a global presence.
history
The company was founded in 2000 under the name Exel with headquarters in Bracknell near London and was taken over by Deutsche Post for 5.5 billion euros in 2005 . Chief Executive John Allan , who built up the British logistics group, moved to the Board of Management of Deutsche Post in 2006 and was in charge of the Finance and Global Business Services departments until June 2009. The Supply Chain division was headed by Bruce A. Edwards from March 2008 to March 2014 . On March 10, he stepped down from the board of directors to retire. The American John Gilbert was appointed as his successor. On October 1, 2019, Oscar de Bok was appointed CEO of DHL Supply Chain after John Gilbert left the company for personal reasons.
