DIDO 2 (also called Chen Jiayong 1 ) is an Israeli Cubesat (small satellite) operated by the Swiss SpacePharma SA based in Courgenay in cooperation with Chinese companies. Its task is to carry out experiments under the conditions of microgravity .

Furnishing

The satellite hosts the mGnify payload. The unit can conduct experiments on bacterial growth, antibiotic resistance , polymerization , nanoparticle synthesis and crystallization . The satellite was built on the 3U Cubesat platform and weighs around 4 kg together with mGnify .

Mission history

The launch of DIDO 2 was originally planned on a Dnepr rocket . Had become doubtful than the scheduled start list of the Dnepr, the satellite was then a multi-Cubesat start on an Indian PSLV - launcher moved. The launch took place on February 15, 2017 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center into a sun-synchronous orbit . The satellites Cartosat 2D , INS 1A and INS 1B , Flock 3P 1-88 , Lemur 2 22-29 , PEASSS , BGUSat , Al-Farabi 1 and Nayif 1 were also on board . This launch holds the world record for the most satellites launched at once, namely 104.
