The DIN standard DIN 75079 (emergency doctor emergency vehicles (NEF)) is a German medical technology standard . It regulates the requirements for emergency medical vehicles . The medical-technical equipment, the medical equipment and the staffing are recorded in this standard. In addition, the terms and the test intervals are specified and the corresponding requirements for vehicle technology (acceleration, maximum load) are made.

Medical-technical equipment

According to DIN 75079, the medical-technical equipment of a NEF includes, among other things, an EKG with defibrillator unit and external pacemaker, an automatic ventilator, an electrical suction pump and a pulse oximeter .

Medicinal equipment

In addition to the drugs that are also available on the ambulance, the NEF also requires a precisely defined number of narcotics , such as fentanyl and morphine , to be available to the emergency doctor.

Staffing

DIN 75079 does not say anything about staffing, this is regulated by the respective state rescue service laws. In many cases it stipulates that the driver must have the qualifications of a paramedic , a paramedic or an emergency paramedic.
