The DIN standard DIN 7708 regulates the standard designation for thermoset molding compounds . This standard is currently still available with two valid parts:

DIN 7708-1 Plastic molding compounds, plastic products; Terms , current edition 12.1980
DIN 7708-4 types of plastic molding compounds; Cold molding compounds , current edition 1.1983

The following standard parts have so far been withdrawn:

DIN 7708-2 types of plastic molding compounds; Phenoplast molding compounds (8.2000 replaced by EN ISO 14526)
DIN 7708-3 types of plastic molding compounds; Aminoplast molding compounds, aminoplast / phenoplast molding compounds (8.2000 replaced by EN ISO 14527 ... 14529)
DIN 7708-8 plastics; Pourable thermosetting molding compounds; Production of test specimens and determination of properties (8.2000 replaced by EN ISO 14526 ... 14530, 15252-2)

Plastics must be provided with additives and aggregates before processing . In order to be able to understand these changes, such molding compounds are marked according to ISO 1043 (old: DIN 16773) for thermoplastics and according to DIN 7708 for thermosets.
