Daúde
Daúde (* 23. September 1961 as Maria Waldelurdes Costa de Santana Dutilleux in Salvador , Bahia ) is a Brazilian singer , actress and former fashion model . In her songs she combines traditional samba as well as funk and rap .
Life
Daúde grew up in Salvador da Bahia and moved to Rio de Janeiro with her parents and three younger siblings at the age of eleven . At the age of eighteen she began to study singing at the Escola de Música Villa-Lobos and acting at the Escola Martins Pena. She later graduated from the University of Santa Úrsula in Rio de Janeiro with a degree in African history in the field of Portuguese language and literature.
Daúde has received several prizes and awards as a singer in Brazil, for example from Jornal do Brasil , and toured the USA, Japan and Europe. She is now an established singer with a strong stage presence in the current Brazilian music scene.
