Da Säkstante

Da Säkstante ("The Sextants ") are a North Frisian music group from Bredstedt in North Frisia and are the singing group of the Friisk Foriining association .

The group of students between the ages of 12 and 18 was founded in 1998 by Christiane Bodenhagen and has been led by her ever since. The music group received the Christian Feddersen Prize in 2002 for their commitment to promoting the Frisian and Low German language. Christiane Bodenhagen was honored for her voluntary work around the group in 2003.

The texts by Da Säkstante are in Frisian, the melodies from well-known pieces such as B. Sailing or Sunshine Reggae. The singing and the music are produced in-house. The group has released two CDs so far: Samerdruum in 1999 and Frihäid in 2006.
