Dabhoi is a town in the Indian state of Gujarat , about 30 km southeast of Vadodara .

history

The medieval Indian city fortifications, of which four city gates are still preserved, were erected in the 12th century under the Solanki rulers as an irregular square and partially destroyed by the Muslims in the 13th century . The double-gate complexes, which only allow passage in an axis broken at right angles, combine guard rooms and side rooms in their walls. The 'Diamond Gate' is also flanked by two small Hindu temples built into the walls. Decorative jewelry spans the cantilevered arches spanned by a massive lintel.
